UPDATED: Everything we know about the Landcruiser 300 (so far...)

Yesterday Toyota launched additional information about the much anticipated Landcruiser 300 series, and we wanted you to be the first to know!

OUR LANDCRUISER FAMILY IS GROWING!

On top of the current range that we know & love, the new 300 series introduces 2 new flagship models, the GR Sport & the Sahara ZX – so let’s have a quick look at those first!

GR Sport:

Focusing on dynamic 4WD capability, the Landcruiser 300 GR Sport is built for rugged, dynamic off-road adventurers.

Toyota Australia Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said the arrival of two new top-of-the-line LandCruiser variants would further broaden the customer appeal of the legendary 4WD.

"Our new GR Sport is the absolute expression of the LandCruiser DNA - the ultimate 4WD that is specially equipped for owners who truly love driving on rough trails and in off-road rallies," Mr Hanley said.

Developed as a base vehicle for the Dakar Rally, GR Sport delivers a deeper off-road and sporty character that reflects the contribution of the motorsport-inspired GR brand that has become a sales phenomenon in Australia (see GR Yaris, GR Supra).

• Gloss black mesh grille
• GR Sport badges throughout
• Black 18” Alloys (built for off-road performance & durability)

Sahara ZX:

The other latest addition is the Saraha ZX, which adds a little bit of luxury to the already popular Sahara model and takes 4WD prestige to a whole new level.

Core Landcruiser Range:

In addition to the 2 new models, the Landcruiser 300 series sees the core model nameplates that we know and love! While the GX, GXL, VX & Sahara models are not new to the Landcruiser range, all of the 300 series models incorporate new equipment, new tech and loads of additional value across model grades.

GX

Starting off the Landcruiser range is the GX that is now fitted with a single-piece tailgate. Other features it gains are:

• LED headlamps
• 9-inch display screen on GX (was 6.1")
• Keyless smart entry and ignition
• 2-zone automatic air-conditioning
• Steering-wheel controls
• Reversing camera
• One-touch power windows for all doors

GXL

Moving up the range is the popular 7-seat Landcruiser GXL grade. It has newly expanded equipment levels and key features include:

• 18-inch alloy wheels
• 9-inch display screen on GXL (was 6.1")
• Rear cross-traffic alert
• Blind-spot monitor
• QI wireless phone charger
• Auto-dimming rear-view mirror
• Multi-terrain select (which helps drivers tackle challenging road conditions with confidence by regulating wheelspin for improved traction)

VX

Next on the list is the Landcruiser VX, premium features now include:

• 12.3-inch multimedia display screen
• 10 speakers
• 7-inch colour multi-info display (was 4.2")
• 4-zone automatic climate control
• Eight cupholders
• Remote power windows
• Features previously reserved for Sahara including power-adjustable steering wheel and heated and ventilated front seats
• Rear parking support brake
• Panoramic view monitor
• Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management that links traction control, electronic stability control, electric steering and other systems to improve performance, responsiveness to driver input and safety.

Sahara

At the top of the core grades is the new 300 series Sahara which adds some new features specified for the first time ever in a LandCruiser. These include:

• 14-speaker premium JBL®8 audio
• Head-up display
• Heated steering wheel
• Easy-access ventilation for the heated second-row seats
• Power-folding third-row seats
• Easy-access seats
