1. Reversable boot floor

While it might not seem like an important feature to have in a car, when you’ve got a family it can be a game changer. The floor panel in the boot of the RAV4 flips over so that one side is carpeted and the other is plastic. This is perfect if you’re headed to the beach or you’ve been on a bush walk and the pram wheels are a bit dirty, why spend hours cleaning sand or mud out of carpet when you can pull out the panel, dust off the sand or wipe off the mud with a damp cloth? Simple!

2. Apple CarPlay / Android Auto

This was another favourite for our team! Picture it, you’ve got the kids in the car with meltdown city about to occur because you forgot to put “Let It Go” on for the 4 thousandth time before you started the car. But because you’ve got your phone connected via Apple CarPlay (or Android Auto) you can switch it on at the touch of a button. Not only that but you can stay connected using your phone, apps, maps and your car can even read out emails or SMS messages to you… easy!

3. Space

The RAV4 gives you one thing that I’m sure most families just can’t get enough of, and that’s space. There’s enough space for 3 kids seats across the rear of the vehicle, enough space for your pram and your grocery shopping in the boot of the car and even enough space for an adult passenger to sit comfortably in the front seat, when they have a rear facing child seat behind them.

4. Hybrid powertrain

Family life is loud enough so the quiet transmission of a hybrid powertrain is a welcome change. Smooth and quiet to drive a RAV4 Hybrid means it’s easy to drive your kids to sleep and the added bonus is that you’re not going to chew through fuel when you do it! Win Win!

Gone are the days of threading your child seats through seatbelts to anchor them. With ISOFIX anchor points for 2 child seats in the rear of the RAV4, it makes installing your child seats a breeze. Quick to install by connecting the clips on the base of your child seat into the ISOFIX anchor points on the RAV4 and then securing the top seat belt of the child seat to the anchor point in the rear of your RAV4, your child seats are installed safely in just minutes.

6. Smart Key with Keyless Entry

Family life is busy and you will often have your hands full which is why the smart key with keyless entry on the RAV4 is a lifesaver. You can keep the car key in your handbag, nappy bag or backpack and simply touch the door hand on either the driver or front passengers’ door to instantly lock and unlock your car. Which when you have your hands full with either things or children is really convenient.

7. Power Back Door (Boot) (on higher grade models)

Like with the keyless entry the power tailgate can be a lifesaver when you have your hands full. Touch a button on the boot and it will open automatically for you. Pop your groceries, pram or sporting gear inside and hit the same button and it will close, no straining required! This feature is available from the mid-range XSE and up including the Cruiser and Edge models.

8. Panoramic View Monitor (360-degree camera) (on higher-grade models)

Worried that when you reverse out of your driveway you could run over bikes, scooters, helmets or other things left lying about? The 360-degree camera on the higher-grade RAV4 models means you can easily see what’s around your entire vehicle with ease. This feature is also really helpful when parking your RAV4! The Panoramic View Monitor is only available on RAV4 Cruiser & Edge models.
