Each year, around 3,000 preschools, kindergardens, primary and high schools across Australia take part in Schools Tree Day. Students nationwide have learned how to dig in for the environment and have fun getting grubby planting over 470,000 native seedlings, trees, shrubs, edibles, and flowers.
Schools Tree Day not only benefits the environment but also the kids as they learn about the importance of nature in our daily lives. Educators are encouraged to introduce nature-care activities, outdoor learning, and fun, healthy environmental programs into the day-to-day experience of our children to help them grow.
This year for School Tree Day we had the pleasure of taking native plants to the beautiful kids at Currimundi Special School, pop in to give gardening gloves and shirts to Bella Grace Early Learning Centre, and plant trees with the TEAK class at Talara Primary College P&C Association! It is so great to see how excited all of the kids get over planting trees!
