New Car Wait Times… Why do I have to wait? & What can I get right now?

So, you want to buy a car? We want you to buy one as well… but when you start your research you realise something big, there are delays, BIG delays. And not just across one model or manufacturer – across most. So what can you do to get yourself into a new car sooner? Well we’re here to help! Here are our top tips to get that NEW CAR FEELING right now.

1. Be flexible

When you’re considering your new car ask yourself if there’s flexibility on models, grades or colours within the model line. We often find that certain colours or grades are best sellers (hello RAV4 Crusier Hybrid) – which can cause delays. If you have some flexibility in your options, talk to our team, we can advise you on what you’re likely to get sooner!

2. Phone the dealership & book an appointment

Sometimes we’ll get an additional allocation of certain vehicles that haven’t got an order on them yet! We know this about a month before they’re due to arrive… check out our Clearance Page to see what we’ve got right now available for delivery for a nice quick turnaround!

3. Consider near-new instead of new

At Sunshine Toyota we also stock a wide range of near-new late model Toyota’s! They’re in great condition, have passed a rigorous safety inspection and are available pretty much straight away (once we make them all sparkly & clean for you). 4. Plan ahead!

While we know it won’t help you get into a new car now, planning ahead can help manage your expectations. In 2021 buying a car is almost like building a house. As crazy as it is, if you have a certain model in mind, you really need to be thinking 6-12 months in advance of when you want to take delivery! 5. If you do order a new car, be patient and expect delays

If you order a car with a delay please be patient with us, there are many factors that are causing increased delays right now including access to parts, accessories, production shutdowns, and more. We want to get you into your new car as much as you want to be in it and we will do everything we can to make this happen sooner for you!
