Don't let a flat tyre ruin your day trip! Amandeep, one of our Toyota Qualified Service Technicians walks you through step-by-step on how to change a tyre safely & correctly.

Hello I'm Amandeep a Qualified Toyota Service Technician at Sunshine Toyota & today I’m going to show you how to change a tyre safely & correctly. Before you begin, it's important that you make sure you are in a safe place. A few checks that I recommend you do are:

  • Ensure you’re in a safe location that is away from the traffic
  • You’re on a flat surface to avoid vehicle instability
  • Your hazard lights are on & if you have a warning sign, it's important to put it on display before your start so that other motorists are aware that you’re there.

Step 2: Place car jack underneath your vehicle

Place your jack underneath your car in the designated spot. This position can be found in the groove of the metal underbody frame. If you are unsure be sure to check your owners manual as placing the jack in the wrong spot can damage the underframe of your car.

If you have used a space-saver tyre its importnant that you get this replaced with a full spare as soon as you are able, as space saver tyres are for temporary use only. Remember space savers are only designed to get you to a service workshop to have your tyre replaced with a full-size one, you cannot drive faster than 80km/h while using a space saver tyre
