The 2017 Sunshine Toyota Melbourne Cup Charity Luncheon was again a great success. The Charity Luncheon was for our Alliance Partner Wishlist, who is a fantastic local not-for-profit organisation that is committed to raising funds for the Sunshine Coast Health and Hospital Service.
Together with BDO Sunshine Coast, Telstra Business and Sajen Legal who are the Gold Sponsors of the Charity Luncheon, we created a dazzling high-end Race Day event with great food, wine and live entertainment throughout the day. But, the most important part of the day was of course raising funds for Wishlist. This year, thanks to the generosity of the Sunshine Coast locals who attended the Charity Luncheon, we raised over $28,000 for the Wishlist foundation! The funds raised on the day, will this year go towards medical research. Medical research is so important for the Sunshine Coast as it attracts the best of the medical world from around the world to the University of the Sunshine Coast Hospital to conduct their own medical research. This in turn brings great medical skills and knowledge of which our whole community benefits from.
On the day our guests were given the opportunity to join the exclusive 300 Club, which will continue to provide local networking opportunities throughout 2018. Those who joined then were given the chance to win either $50,000 cash or a Toyota HiLux SR5 (valued over $55,000) if their ticket horses came in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th position in the Melbourne Cup race. We also had one guaranteed winner of $5,000 cash on the day!
To keep everyone feeling refreshed we set up a lovely Pimms and Apperol Sprits bar set up out on the grass with an outdoor cocktail party décor for everyone to enjoy. This year for entertainment we had Chloe Styler, a young local musician who set the mood with her beautiful acoustic songs. Later in the day we had Wes Carr, the winner of the 2008 Australian Idol to end the day with his powerful vocals and a perfect collection of songs.
Sunshine Toyota, together with BDO Sunshine Coast, Telstra Business and Sajen Legal are proud to be an integral part of this important fundraising event, which will support our local charity Wishlist to continue providing quality health care that benefits the Sunshine Coast community. We are thrilled by the amount raised and proud of all the hard work that went into creating the event.
