The 2018 Sunshine Toyota Melbourne Cup Charity Luncheon
This year’s 2018 Sunshine Toyota Melbourne Cup Charity Event was a standout! The Charity Luncheon was held for our Alliance Partner Wishlist, who is an amazing Sunshine Coast non-for-profit organisation that is committed to raising funds for the Sunshine Coast Health and Hospital Service.
Alongside the event Platinum Sponsors BDO Sunshine Coast, Telstra Business and Corporate Sponsor Spire Law, we created a beautiful Spring Carnival style Race Day event will lots of delicious food, wine and music throughout the day. However, the most important part of the event was raising funds for Wishlist. All thanks to the generosity of Sunshine Coast locals who attended the event, we managed to raised $35,370 for the Wishlist foundation! The funds raised this year will go to helping build the very first affordable family accommodation facility near the Sunshine Coast University Hospital so families can stay together while their loved ones undergo treatment, surgery or emergency stays.
The funds raised for Wishlist were included in the ticket purchase so that everyone who came was able to enjoy day! Those who joined us on the day were given a chance to win three cash prizes throughout the day. Three very lucky winners went home with the cash prizes of $250, $500 and $1000!
To keep everyone feeling refreshed we set up a rocking martini bar outdoors on the grass that was serving Espresso Martini, French Martini and Caprioskas. All cocktails were $10 and all of the proceeds were donated back to Wishlist. This year we had Lucy Korts and Cryss Coleman, two young local musicians’ who sang beautiful acoustic covers.
Sunshine Toyota, together with BDO Sunshine Coast, Telstra Business and Spire Law are proud to be an integral part of this important fundraising event, which will support our local charity Wishlist to continue providing quality health care that benefits the Sunshine Coast community. We are thrilled by the amount raised and proud of all the hard work that went into creating the event.
